Moody Church hosted its annual Help-Portrait event in downtown Chicago, partnering with Tricoci University and Angel Tree to provide an afternoon of portraits for families in the Chicagoland area.
We got an awesome opportunity to participate in an event with Help-Portrait, an organization that provides free portrait services to families in need. This year, they’re working with families from Angel Tree which is an organization that provides gifts for children with incarcerated parents. We performed quick touch ups for hair and make-up before the portraits on Saturday, December 8th. 50-75 families to participated in this event and 20 Cosmetology students and 10 Esthetics students attended.
Help-Portrait is a global movement of photographers, hairstylists and makeup artists using their time, tools and expertise to give back to those in need. It was founded by celebrity photographer Jeremy Cowart and Kyle Chowning in 2008. Their mission is to empower photographers, hairstylists, and makeup artists to use their skills, tools and expertise to give back to their local community.
