If you’re looking to start at Tricoci University with some existing cosmetology school experience, here’s what you need to know.

What Are Transfer Credits?

If you already have credits at another cosmetology school, it means you’ve passed a certain number of classes, but not enough to complete the program. Now, at certain Tricoci University campuses, you can transfer those credits to your education at Tricoci University. Transfer credits allow you to change colleges without having to start from square one.

What Is an Accredited Beauty School?

In the United States, accrediting boards, which have recognition from the United States Department of Education, oversee their accredited schools. It sets education and performance standards, ensuring that schools adhere to those standards. Tricoci University is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences, Inc., and the school will only accept credits from another beauty school accredited by NACCAS. The National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences is recognized by the United States Department of Education as a national accrediting agency for postsecondary schools and departments of cosmetology arts and sciences, and massage therapy.

What Campuses Are Accepting Transfer Credits?

Right now, the Janesville campus and the Normal campus are both accepting transfer credits. This is the first time in Tricoci University’s history that transfer credits have been accepted in any capacity.. With this introduction, students in the Janesville and Normal campuses will hopefully consider Tricoci University’s high-quality education to achieve long-lasting results in the cosmetology industry.

How Do I Transfer My Credits Into a Tricoci University Program?

Everyone’s situation is different, and someone may have to sit down and sort through your information with you to make sure you’re eligible for the transfer. When you first contact Tricoci University to start the application process, mention your interest in transferring your existing credits. The representative can help you from there.

How Long Will I Need to Study at Tricoci University After Transferring Credits?

Under the current program, Tricoci University allows you to transfer up to 400 hours from a previous school toward Tricoci University program. The length of study depends on how many hours you’ve already achieved, the campus you attend and whether you want to pursue the course full-time or part-time.

The Janesville campus offers a 1550-hour program either full-time or part-time, and the Normal campus offers a 1500-hour program full-time. With a full 400 hours transferred, you can reduce your studying time by around three months full-time or six months part-time.
