Guest post by Jeanne Richardson, a TUBC student at our Rockford campus.
My name is Jeanne Richardson and I have been a student at Tricoci University since September 2012. I started out full time. I got sick in March 2013 and had to take a leave, meaning I was gone for about 4 months. I was able to come back in August of 2013 as a part time student, and I was so thankful to be back.
I have always wanted to be a stylist. I can remember cutting my dolls hair, and styling it. And yes that was a long time ago!
I will be honest, there were some really rough times for me through this. There were times when I didn’t know if I was going to finish and I felt I just couldn’t do it anymore. But no matter how bad things were for me outside of school, I put that smile on before I came in that back door. Sure, there were a few times that smile didn’t come in with me. But I like think of school as my happy place and try to focus on what I need to there.
Just remember that all of the Tricoci University teachers want to see you succeed – they care about you. They will take time for you if you need help or need to talk, believe me I know. Ms. Kristen and Ms. Kristi have both taken time when I have needed to talk. Oh by the way, they gave me some good advice, too.
You came here for a reason – must be hair! Put your all into it, you will get back what you put in. Be positive, full of energy and productive. Just think about all the endless possibilities you will have when you are finished. And remember don’t leave your perms ’til last. Get’em done!
I will be graduating soon. I have enjoyed my time here and yes I will cry when that time comes. Honestly, I will miss this place and everyone in it. I love all of you! I know that each and every one of you are going to succeed and be great at what you do.
Oh by the way – like I tell my children, you can accomplish anything that you set your mind to.
