Brian Weed joined TUBC as Chief Executive Officer in 2008, building a management team and infrastructure to rapidly expand the company’s revenue, scope and capabilities. In 2015, Brian transitioned to the role of Chairman of the Board, assisting in company strategy and growth, as well as overall governance.
Brian began his professional career at The Boston Consulting Group, a leading management consulting firm, where he attained the position of Partner. In 1997, he joined Hyatt Hotels Corporation as Vice President of Strategic Planning. At Hyatt, Brian helped conceive and launch a joint venture (named Avendra LLC) involving Hyatt, Marriott International and other hospitality companies.
Brian transitioned from Hyatt to ultimately serve as the Chief Operating Officer of Avendra, which provides procurement and supply chain services for hospitality industries. Since its launch in 2001, Avendra has grown to become one of the most successful procurement services companies in the United States.
Brian is an active philanthropist, serving on the Board of North Lawndale College Prep, a charter high school in one of Chicago’s most financially depressed neighborhoods. He also serves on the Development Board of Greenhouse Scholars, which provides support to high-performing, under-resourced college students.
