July marks the end of my time with Tricoci University – and what a month I has been already! I’m so sad to be leaving TUBC after graduation but am walking away with friends, family and fond memories.
One of my favorite recent memories was the time we spent as a campus at Peoria Chiefs baseball games. Despite the hot, hot weather, we had a great time styling crazy hair styles for little girls at the ballpark – there were pigtails, feathers, pipe cleaners and sparkles! Laid-back events, like Chiefs games, are a great way for us students to interact with members of the Peoria community; we have the chance to spread the word about TUBC and our student salons – and give the parents a chance to relax while we play with the kids!
There’s a whole new class of students that started this month too. It’s funny how soon after they step in the door that they become a member of the Tricoci University family. I love seeing how eager my TUBC family members are to begin a career in cosmetology – it’s exciting, great motivation and drives us all to succeed in the industry.
As I prepare to leave the memories and family members behind after graduation, I realize that I wouldn’t have been able to do this all myself. From our receptionist, Ms. Neka, to my instructors, all the way up to our campus manager, Ms. Holly – everyone at Tricoci Peoria has kept me on track and my chin up when I had tough times. They’ve already had a major impact on my career by helping me establish long-term career goals and really put the industry into perspective for me. For all the times my campus’ staff was tough on me to times when they gave me pep talks – I know I wouldn’t be where I am today without their leadership! I’m so grateful for them all.
As Mario says, every day is a learning experience – and my education will continue long after I leave TUBC with each day ahead. There’s no question that I’ll stay in touch with my Tricoci University family – best of luck to my classmates!
