Tricoci University’s Highland campus has a lot of exciting events happening this holiday season! The student council started out the month of December by planning many exciting events and fundraisers. We kicked off the month of December with a campus-wide event that was held on December 3. All Tricoci campuses hosted a Cut/Wax/Mani-athon. All money raised was matched by Mario Tricoci himself and donated to the victims of Super Storm Sandy!!! All students agreed it felt so good to be a part of such a positive event!
On December 6th, the part-time students participated in the campus-wide Creative Demo. The part-time students showcased their talents in hair, makeup, while also dressing the part in a Winter Wonderland theme. The event was held for prospective students, with the goal of showing them that coming becoming a Tricoci University student means they too can participate in exciting events like this.
December 7th student council hosted hot dogs and popcorn day!!! All the items needed were donated to the Highland Campus by Sam’s Club in Calumet City and Ultra in Highland Indiana. All the funds raised will be used towards an angel tree that we have displayed in the campus. Our angel tree has ornaments on it that have gift suggestions for families who are unable to buy gifts for their families; or for those who need just a little help around the holidays!
On December 8th, one esthetic student along with four cosmetology students, visited the Moody church located in downtown Chicago, to help with hair and makeup for families receiving family portraits.
On December 13th, we hosted a Winter Wonderland Fashion Show, where prospective students along with guests visited our campus to see the”magic” behind every students work with hair and makeup.! An exciting perk of this event is that guests received free mini services!!!
On Monday December 17th, the school was open to clients to receive mini services at a discounted price, when they brought in a toy. All of the toys collected during this event are being used for the families on our Angel Tree. The Campus is also helping out the Carmelite Home for Woman and children located in East Chicago Indiana, by having students and clients bring in items such as toiletries along with clothes for children aged infant to 18 years old. We greatly appreciate any donations made, so if you are in the area, please stop by and donate! Along with this charity event, we also will hold a food drive for St. James Parrish. All non perishable items donated will be taken to St. James so in turn; they can donate to families in need and ensure a happy holiday!!!
